Types of Carpet Pythons
Jungle carpet pythons
The Jungle Carpet Python is a beautiful and hardy species that does
quite well in captivity. This particular species is relatively easy to
care for and this makes it a popular choice for beginning snake owners.
With proper handling, this species can become quite tame and that makes
it appealing to snake owners. The Jungle Carpet python is a medium sized
python. They usually average 1.8-3M in length. The Jungle Carpet
python will climb on occasion but not as much as some of the other
pythons. This species is most active at night.
Coastal carpet python
The Coastal Carpet python is found in Australia that usually grows
around seven feet in length. The maximum is usually around 3.4M. Many
people value this species as a pet because they are easy to maintain.
Most Coastal Carpet pythons are not aggressive.
Spotted carpet python
The Spotted Carpet Python is a species that is located in the
northern part of Australia. This species is popular as a pet because of
its temperament and small size. The Spotted Carpet python grows to be
about 100 - 140 cm long.

Murray Darling carpet python
The Murray Darling carpet python usually grows to approximately eight
feet in length. This species is considered to be a good choice for a
first time snake owner. They have a temperament that has been described
as placid when they are adults. This snake is relatively easy to care
for and they are inexpensive to purchase. The one possible negative if
you are considering purchasing one is their large size.
Darwin carpet python
The Darwin Carpet python is also referred to as the north western
carpet. Of all the snakes in the carpet python group, they have the most
ring like pattern. As this species grows, they begin to change colors.
They have more of a slender look than some of the other pythons.
